Battery Hp Dv9000

Is there a difficulty with my desktop battery?

I actually have a HP dv9000 personal computer which is nearly 6 months historical and this day, when I plugged it in it stated "fortyP.C. to be had, plugged in, no longer charging"
I have no idea if it charged up to that 40PERCENT basically considering the fact that I wasn't paying curiosity at first, however I feel it used to be at 40P.C. when I plugged it in, so it hasn't charged in any respect because the day before today morning.

Is there a environment that I are looking to change to repair this or is it a predicament with the battery? And, whether it is the battery, to I want to ship it to come back to HP? Or is exchanging the battery a reasonably uncomplicated aspect to do myself (and does this invalidate the warranty?)
