Why is absolutely not my truck battery charging?

I recently purchased a battery pondering it was once useless. I established it and at the moment I noticed the high / low battery needle at the dashboard used to be pointing more towards the low than excessive. Isn't it supposed to be in the midsection? This new battery lasted 2 days before going lifeless. About 8 starts offevolved. The small battery mild close to the speedometer seriously is not coming on. Get new cables, worn one can cause problems with the charging program.
